We’re recruiting a Healthy Minds Project Worker to drive and deliver the activities of the Croxteth Healthy Minds Project. You will work with volunteers to deliver an effective project which reaches out to young people aged between 8 and 19 to support their mental health whilst also promoting their personal, educational and social development. You will engage young people in a programme aimed to redress inequalities, improve their life chances, and empower them to take action on issues affecting their lives including health, education, unemployment and the environment, by developing positive skills and attitudes.
This role is initially part-time (10 hours per week, mainly evenings including weekends) for a period of 6 months. We will continue applying for funding to extend the role.

Healthy Minds Project Worker Job Specification
Job Title: Healthy Minds Project Worker
Reports to: Centre Manager
Liaises with: Youth Volunteers/Sessional Workers/Management Team
Location: Croxteth Ward, West Derby & Anfield – but the primary area is Croxteth
Hours: 10 hours initially with potential to increase as funding is found (mainly evening and weekends) – including a minimum of 4 evenings a week – including Friday & Saturday evening.
Salary: £4560.4 per annum equates to £8.77 per hour for 10 hours per week.
Contract: Short term 6-month contract – sessional hours only (due to funding)
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support and deliver a programme of events, group work activities.
- Drive the delivery of agreed outcomes and outputs, ensuring monitoring and evaluation is completed and targets are met.
- Undertake youthwork, observing all required welfare and safety procedures
- Deliver/support the delivery of on-site and off-site engagement and developmental activities (arts, music, community, environmental, as well as activities supporting engagement in training and employment)
- Befriend and support individual young people in various settings, assess their needs
- Contribute to managing and administering youth and community projects and resources;
Project Delivery
- Ensure funders’ compliance requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate organisational/project policies and procedures
- Maintain overview and link with other youth activities taking place in Rhys Jones Community Centre and surrounding areas
- Work with Youth Work Coordinator/Centre Manager to manage the diary of youth activities

Person Specification
Essential
- Experience and/or qualifications in Psychology and/or mental health support including youth work with previous projects around Mental Health with young people and children.
- Good practical understanding of mental health/psychology/youth work-related theory.
- Experience of successfully delivering and coordinating mental health/youth work projects
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating projects with clear outcomes being successfully delivered.
- Very strong young people’s skills
- Ability to work evening and weekends
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
Desirable
- Flexible approach to working, able to adapt to change
- Capacity to engage with people from various sectors, cultures and traditions
- Qualified in First Aid
- Current driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Able to promote the positive ethos of the organisation
